Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Stacee Echols developed an interest in art that started in elementary school art class and carried on through high school and college. Currently a BFA candidate, Stacee is completing her degree through ASU’s Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts with an emphasis in drawing. With her greater interest in life drawing, she is inspired by the curvilinear elements found in the human body, specifically the female figure, and enjoys conveying that through the use of charcoal’s soft, resilient properties. Often inspired by mixed media, Stacee also likes incorporating the use of chalk pastels, ink, and watercolor into her work. During the semester breaks, she enjoys experimenting with digital art and cartooning.
